Blxckie Sizzles On Trace Awards Night Red Carpet. Kigali, Rwanda, was the ultimate destination this past weekend as it played host to a star-studded event, the Trace Awards 2023. The event drew in the biggest African music superstars from all corners of the continent.
South Africa was well-represented at the event with SA Hip Hop sensation Blxckie, who radiated confidence and charisma. Taking to Instagram, the rapper shared pictures of him on the red carpet rocking a sleek all-black outfit accentuated by a good-looking pair of white sneakers.
The rapper’s effortless style was complemented by his trademark Yena Yedwa avant-garde chain that added a touch of urban chic to his ensemble. Not only did the rapper appear squeaky clean for the big Trace Awards event, rather he also managed to deliver a memorable live performance with fellow SA rapper K.O.
The two performed the biggest song of 2022 SETE, and they managed to captivate the audience who attended the event in Rwanda. However, even though Blxckie enjoyed some of the perks of being at the event, the rapper failed to scoop the big prize of the night which he was nominated for.
Somnyama was nominated for the Best Music Video Award for his music video Ronda and Best Collaboration for K.O’s SETE. In what appears to be a chance for Blxckie to come up with something, the rapper fell short against Nigeria’s Yemi Alade and Davido who won Best Collaboration and Best Music Video respectively.
The Trace Awards Night featured an array of stellar performances. Trace also honoured some of the most influential figures in the African music scene with Robot Boii winning the Best Dancer Award.
