Gunna Coming to South Africa!

Multi-platinum hip-hop superstar Gunna is set to headline Milk + Cookies Music Week South Africa 2026, bringing his chart-topping energy to Cape Town and Johannesburg. The Atlanta-based production powerhouse, founded by four Morehouse College alumni, returns after a successful 2025 debut—headlined by Kaytranada—which drew 20,000 attendees. The 21-day festival runs from 24 December 2025 to 14 January 2026, blending music, creativity, and community while celebrating South Africa’s vibrant culture.
Gunna, known for hits like Drip Too Hard and Push Up, will perform at Kenilworth Racecourse in Cape Town on Saturday, 3 January 2026, and at Nasrec Expo Centre in Johannesburg on Saturday, 10 January 2026. He will be joined by South African icons DJ Kent in Johannesburg and Vigro Deep in Cape Town, whose sets fuse global hip-hop with South Africa’s amapiano and house rhythms, highlighting the country’s influence on international music.
“We’re coming back to South Africa because its culture sets the pace for the world,” said Chase Freeman, Head of Marketing at Milk + Cookies. “Last year, we saw how Atlanta’s energy blends naturally with SA’s incredible culture. With Gunna headlining alongside DJ Kent and Vigro Deep, we’re here to uplift local talent and show the world how South Africa is shaping global culture.”
Beyond the stage, Milk + Cookies Music Week will empower South Africa’s creative community through writing camps, industry panels, workshops, and merch pop-ups. Corporate Social Investment (CSI) initiatives and community programs will support local growth, create jobs, and help young creatives gain access to tools, resources, and networks to thrive in the global music and creative industries.
“The real magic happens beyond the stage,” said Jhordan Gibbs, Director of Business Development and Strategy at Milk + Cookies. “Our programming equips South African creatives with everything they need to enter the industry confidently and authentically. True creativity thrives when we invest in people.”
Additional local and global acts, as well as full festival programming, will be announced in the coming weeks. Stay updated through Milk + Cookies’ social channels.
