Stilo Magolide Shares The Reason Why Amapiano Is Killing Hip Hop! 2019 has been a rather tough year for Hip Hop with a very few songs from the genre making it onto the charts.

Amapiano has been the dominant genre in South Africa dominating on the streets and the club scene. This raised a rather big conversation amongst artists and fans likewise about which is the better genre.

Stilo Magolide saw the difficulties SA Hip Hop has been facing and then went on to speak on the matter. He was recently interviewed in an interview on TshisaLive were he spoke about the reason why Hip Hop is lagging behind Amapiano in 2019.

“It’s been a tough year for hip-hop but one thing is that a lot of artists are not putting out a lot of music and if they are putting out music, they are not putting out music together,” started Stilo.

He then went on to say “The difference between hip-hop and people from other genres is that they always mix and feature each other on songs. Whereas, in hip-hop, rappers feature their friends. That’s why amapiano is killing the game. In hip-hop there is no unity.”
