Zola 7 Reacts To Being Snubbed For The SAMA26 Life Time Achievement Award

Zola 7 Reacts To Being Snubbed For The SAMA26 Life Time Achievement Award. Musician and philanthropist Zola 7 who was allegedly told by the SAMAs committee that he would be honoured at this year’s ceremony for the Life Time Achievement Award, was dropped at the last minute by the organisation.

According to Sowetan Live Bonginkosi ‘Zola’ Dlamini was over the moon to hear that he was selected as one of the three recipients to receive this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award at the SAMAs but was unfortunately snubbed at the eleventh hour.

Zola was allegedly informed a week before the awards took place that he was no longer going to be honoured, leaving only two people remaining who received the prestigious award, that being Dan Tshanda and Bishop Benjamin Dube.

This undoubtedly left the rapper beyond devastated as he was blind sided by the way that the SAMAs decided to drop him on the last minute.

Recording Industry of SA (RiSA) CEO Nhlanhla Sibisi told the publication that they received a number of nominations for the prestigious category, which is considered by the board.

“After a lengthy deliberation, the number was reduced to three and later to two. The decision of the board on the Lifetime Achievement Award is final” Sibisi said.

According to The Sowetan, a source close to the television personality and hitmaker said he was excited when he received confirmation that he was one of the recipients for the award, however, Zola is understanding of the selection process and is very much honoured for the recognition by the platform.
