AKA’s Father Expresses Relief As Suspects In His Son’s Murder Extradited From Eswatini
AKA’s Father Expresses Relief As Suspects In His Son’s Murder Extradited From Eswatini. AKA’s father, Tony Forbes, described Tuesday as a day he had been waiting for ever since his son and friend Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane were gunned down on Florida Road in Durban in February 2023.

After months of legal wrangling and an extradition battle in Eswatini, Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande were brought back to South Africa under heavy police guard to be processed and charged.
“I’m pleased that we’ve arrived at this day. It’s been a long time coming. But for me, I feel satisfied now that when the trial starts that all seven will be on trial. Well, I hope all seven will be on trial together. In particular, the brother who pulled the trigger,” Forbes said.
AKA’s father said that, despite the lengthy process, the NPA kept him informed and prepared him for the fact that it would be a complicated procedure. “So it’s taken a long time. But for me, it’s the investigating team, along with the NPA, that has kept me abreast over the last two and a half years. The day when they called to say that they have arrested the two brothers in Eswatini, my expectations were managed by them saying it’s going to be a complicated process. So it won’t happen quickly. And today it’s happening. So I’m very pleased with that.”
The extradition of the Ndimande brothers followed a protracted legal process in Eswatini, where appeals were abandoned and a surrender order was eventually issued. Prosecutors have signalled they want a consolidated trial, arguing that the charges and evidence link all the accused to the events of that night.
For the Forbes family and a legion of fans, the arrival does not erase the loss, but it does mark a turning point in a grief that has lasted nearly three years. Court proceedings now loom, and lawyers, investigators and the National Prosecuting Authority will move to assemble the case that must answer not only who pulled the trigger but who, if anyone, ordered the fatal ambush on a busy Durban street.
