The rap game in Mzansi was on a nose-dive, but props to Big Zulu for bringing back the conversation again.

The diss tracks that have been released by K.O, Kwesta, Duncan and Big Zulu made headlines with the limelight now on SA hip hop. Whilst the momentum in SA hip hop is still very high, SAHipHopMag took to Twitter and called out SA rappers to release the music following the reaction from diss tracks.

In the tweet, the likes of K.O, Big Zulu, Kwesta, Cassper Nyovest, were all praised for playing their parts with the tracks they released. Da L.E.S is one of the rappers who have been quite in the game and when asked about releasing the music he responded; “Retired, fortunately.” Taking from his response is the North god confirming his retirement or it’s all a charade?

North god has been a massive contributor to SA hip hop. The rapper has not only brought influence through his music, his sense of fashion and swag made him one of the most influential rappers in the game.

In an interview with SundayWorld, the Lifestyle hitmaker stated that he is now focusing on family since he is now a father to two kids. “I took some time out from the industry to regroup. I have grown as a man, I am a father of two kids and that has shaped and changed my life in a beautiful way,” Da L.E.S said, adding that “my perception of life is different now”.
