Blaklez Speaks On One Of The “Worst Mentalities” In SA Hip Hop

Blaklez Speaks On One Of The “Worst Mentalities” In SA Hip Hop. When it comes to the rules and regulations of hip hop, they often tend to differ in each region and when it comes to local hip hop, Blaklez seems to think that the game need to change its mindset.

Taking to twitter, Blaklez responded to a birthday shoutout for award winning platinum recording American artist J Cole who is celebrating his 36th birthday. The ‘Spoko’ rapper commented on the post claiming that the rapper would be regarded as old and played out if he was a local rapper.

Brother bear also motioned that if the ‘Love Yourz’ hitmaker was an artist from Mzansi, the age of 36 is considered to be good enough for rappers to throw in the towl and make way for more age appropriate MC’s to take over.

“They’d be calling him “OG” and asking him to make way for younger dudes if he was from South Africa” Blaklez said.

DJ and wife to Khuli Chana Lamiez Holworthy supported Blaklez’s argument claiming that no caps were detected in the above statement which is one of the reason’s that Mzansi’s is a joke.

Lez stated that SA hip hop having a cut off age in terms of artists is just straight up whack and is one of the worst mentalities that the industry could ever posses.

“Some of the worst mentalities in our industry bruv. Terrible” he said

The Pitori born rapper who we can bet is around the same age group has been defying the odds by proving that with age comes wisdom and a lot more rapping material.

Although 2020 was a bust for music in general, Blaklez did the most s he released a solo album and a joint album as well as an EP titled ‘Ska Rasa Wa E Senya’ which is followed by another mind blowing project titled ‘Don’t Mind The B.S’.
