Cassper: “Without AKA And Cassper SA Hip Hop Wouldn’t Be Where It Is”
Cassper: “Without AKA And Cassper SA Hip Hop Wouldn’t Be Where It Is”. No one can deny Cassper‘s influence on the SA Hip Hop industry. The Family Tree CEO has broken boundaries through that become one of SA’s favourite rappers and celebrities. Because the rapper has achieved so much in his career he is looked at as a rapper that had to fight some tough battles to get to where he is.
The successful rapper recently joined Pearl Thusi for an episode of BET Africa’s ‘Behind The Story’ where celebrities dig deep into their careers and reflect on their journey to stardom. On this particular episode, Cassper unpacked his thoughts on the SA Hip Hop industry, his controversies and other SA rappers.
The two got to speaking about beefs and egos in the industry and what creates the dynamic between different egos. Cassper mentioned that sports needs egos and described rap is a sport.
“Everyone wants to be number one, and I don’t think anybody will be happy with not being number one. At some point, someone is gonna come at you if you’re at the top. And it’s very exciting for fans, like that’s the facts. Like without… ugh man I hate this guy’s name without AKA and Cassper South African Hip Hop wouldn’t be where it is.“
“It was so interesting joh, when this thing happened this was like two titans. This is you know, Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates. This is Ronaldo and Messi, it just.. it had to happen it’s just that with rap it was direct, it’s not as friendly as football. With rap it’s like I’m better than YOU.” Cassper explained.
Cassper and AKA are two rappers that have been at each other’s throats for years. The two award winning rappers even planned to have a boxing match where they could sort out their issues but never followed through with it.
