Nasty C Details Getting Raided By US Police While Shooting The Music Video For ‘King’ With A$AP Ferg. Nasty C has become a global sensation, collaborating with some of the finest talents. The multi award winning rapper even scored himself a record deal with Def Jam Recordings and has been spending more time in the US rubbing shoulders with some of their top talents.
The Black & White rapper recently featured on the the latest episode of the ‘Here Comes the Break’ podcast. The podcast is a combined effort between Def Jam Recordings and iHeartMedia. Nasty C gets into topics about where is love for music started and why he wants to make Zulu culture more appealing amongst others.
The podcast host asked Nasty C how his collaboration with T.I, They Don’t happened. Nasty explained that he made the song by himself at first after watching the Emmy award winning Netflix series, When They See Us. He mentioned that before watching the series he didn’t know much about the racial injustices in the United States and decided to do his own research on the matter.
He also details having his own run in with the US police while in New York shooting the music video for his hit single King featuring A$AP Ferg. Nasty explained that while shooting on a rooftop in Harlem, his music video shoot was raided.
“I don’t know what happened but we got raided and it was like thirteen cops upstairs, putting us in a line, making us put our IDs on the floor and sh*t, our hands up. I was like what the f*ck is going on right now. And this was fresh off of seeing all these videos and these series so I was like I’m for sure dying right now. I’m dying to the hands of policeman, this is crazy.“
“But luckily nothing happened. I just decided to make a song and just get it off my chest. I was more making it just to help the mothers, and the loved ones of the victims heal and a year later unfortunately the situation was relevant again which was crazy.“
