Rapper AKA has resumed his duties at Cruz Vodka, this comes after he announced that he would temporarily be stepping back from Cruz Vodka related business following the tragic passing of his fiancee Anele “Nellie” Tembe. AKA shared the news with his followers on social media.

The award-winning rapper took to social media to post a picture of himself and a bottle of Cruz Watermelon and announced his return in his caption. “We back in business. @cruzvodka We back in business. @cruzvodka”. The move not only comes at a good time as restrictions on the sale of alcohol in South Africa have been lifted.

The move by AKA to return to his Cruz Vodka duties also signals that the rapper is trying to move forward with his life after Anele’s passing. AKA’s partnership with Cruz Vodka is one of his proudest deals, the collaboration has seen the rapper launch his own flavours -watermelon and banana under the vodka brand.

In a statement released by AKA‘s management team T Effect in May, the rapper announced that he would be temporarily stepping back from his duties with Cruz Vodka. “Having had time to reflect on the events of the past few days, I have engaged with my business partners, and I feel it best that I temporarily step back from my duties with Cruz Vodka as I need this time to focus on the way forward, and deal with my personal matter.”
