Youngsta CPT has grown to be a hip hop artist who is not only there to seek for his own glory through his music in the SA hip hop. The rapper has managed to take time to appreciate everyone who has played their part in elevating the hip hop culture to where it is today. A few weeks ago the rapper also appreciated the work that is being done by the producers in hip hop. He emphasized that producers are outshining SA rappers through the work they are doing in producing top quality rap songs.
Youngsta CPT seems not to be holding back with his mannerism of saluting personnel’s who have not been getting enough credit for their contribution to the rap culture. During an interview with the one and only Queen Azizzar the host for the Element SA Podcast, the rapper managed to make time to give a shout out to the host for her incredible work and contributions to the hip hop culture in South Africa. He went on and compared her with one of the greatest Radio DJ of all time Angie Martinez.
“I will tell you On-Air so that the listeners can actually hear this and validate it for me as well for those who know Angie Martinez.,” he said. “Like the role that you play especially in South African Hip hop is a bit underappreciated outside and also started to get noticed.”
The rapper further explained how Azizzar has dedicated her time to listen to the hip hop songs breaking it all down to try and get the meaning behind the music. “You are accesses the music a lot deeper than it was accessed before in the previous years, actually prettier doing it than the previous years, maybe those guys may have the longevity if more people like took time to listen to what they were actually saying and maybe more like people that platforms took time to listen and then speak about it on those platforms.”
Youngsta CPT gave credit to Azizzar for the works she is doing for paying attention to hip hop music and the lyrics that comes with the genre. “Thank goodness, we have you because, I mean you don’t do it for me but you do it for the whole game right now, you taking this song and you breaking it down line by line, you want to know what their thoughts when they wrote that, what was the intention when you release this,” he said.
The rapper further explained that he appreciates Azizzar’s craft of trying to get the meaning and the story behind the music artists releases. “Those kind of things are very very important, the back stories we never ever had a chance to speak about the back stories, the inspiration and the meaning of certain hits, now that the music has comes out you downloaded it and you think that’s it, you finished with it, you finished with the project.”
