The rumours were escalated by entertainment blogger Musa Khawula, who has developed a reputation for revealing information concerning most Mzansi celebrities. He claimed in his post that David de Mardt is the brand’s owner and director.

“Meet the owner and director of Billiato, David de Mardt. Billiato is an alcoholic brand paraded by Cassper Nyovest as his own. David de Mardt is a CEO of Cruz and other alcoholic brands said to be owned by South African celebrities,” he tweeted.

With all of the allegations surrounding Billiato’s ownership, the Cassper recently took to Twitter to discuss his strategy for educating people about industry ownership. The rapper stated that because he has established and owns businesses, he has what it takes to educate the youth.

This Billiato Story has reminded me of the lack of education and ownership in our industry. I’ve been able to build & own brands so I’ve decided that I’m gonna host a workshop in Youth Month. I’ve been wanting to teaching and I think now is the right time to start. Yall coming?” Tweeted Cassper.

Prior to his boxing match against Naak Musiq, the rapper announced that he will be launching an underwear line, which will be his latest commercial venture.
