Emtee Responds To Why Lyricist Of The Year Award Is For English Rappers Only. The hip-hop game will always be dependent on the force of its lyrics, from the sort of genuine and truthful narrative that some have achieved with the intellect and mind-bending lines. The SA hip hop game has witnessed artists with such brilliance when it comes to spitting bars. This however has triggered a never-ending debate on who got the best lyrics in the game.
The Lyricist of The Year Award has propelled controversial debates on the social media timeline. In the just ended SAHHA the award was won by A-Reece who faced competition from the likes of YoungstaCPT, Priddy Ugly and PDotO.
Now with the Hip hop Awards done and dusted, Lolli Native took to Twitter and ignited the debate on the Lyricist of The Year Award. The rapper asked if the award is meant for English rappers only. “#LyricistOfTheYear Celu ubuza is this for English Rappers only? Ngoba ipen yam irongo…… #BhuddaOfTheYear,” asked Lolli Native.
Lolli Native’s tweet got reactions from most of his followers as they poured in responding to his question. Emtee’s response to Lolli raised many eyebrows on the TL. The rapper’s response indicated that he is not happy with the level of nepotism that is within the SA Hip hop Awards. “It’s for those with friends at panels,” Emtee responded.
YoungstaCPT is another rapper who aired his frustrations for not earning enough respect when it comes to his lyrics in SA hip hop. The Capetown rapper released a song titled “Lyricist Of The Year” were he fired shots at the SA hip hop organizers. The rapper shared on Twitter claiming he has the best lyrics in the game. “Me…I’m the lyricist of the year,” tweeted YoungstaCPT.
