The Lyricist of The Year Award has propelled controversial debates on the social media timeline. In the just ended SAHHA the award was won by A-Reece who faced competition from the likes of YoungstaCPT, Priddy Ugly and PDotO.

Now with the Hip hop Awards done and dusted, Lolli Native took to Twitter and ignited the debate on the Lyricist of The Year Award. Lolli Native’s tweet got reactions from most of his followers as they poured in responding to his question. Emtee’s response to Lolli raised many eyebrows on the TL. The rapper’s response indicated that he is not happy with the level of nepotism that is within the SA Hip hop Awards. “It’s for those with friends at panels,” Emtee responded.

YoungstaCPT is another rapper who aired his frustrations for not earning enough respect when it comes to his lyrics in SA hip hop. The Capetown rapper released a song titled “Lyricist Of The Year” were he fired shots at the SA hip hop organizers. The rapper shared on Twitter claiming he has the best lyrics in the game. “Me…I’m the lyricist of the year,” tweeted YoungstaCPT.
