After exchanging the stage hug during their live performance at CottonFest over the weekend, AKA and Da L.E.S appear to have renewed their bromance. The two famed rappers have been reported to be not on good terms with each other and the CottonFest concert proved to be the best platform to rekindle their friendship.

The two rappers appear to have patched up their differences and shared a touching moment on stage when AKA brought out an old pal to sing their songs Real Stuff and All Eyes on Me. AKA took to Instagram and shared a video clip of their roaring performance on their song Real Stuff.

“I was dreaming of the past … and my heart was beating fassst 🎶” @2freshles #BrothersOfDestruction 💜 @cottonfestjhb ⛪️ 📸 a film by @rikyrickworld & @travislcross 🇿🇦 #RealOnes 🙏” Wrote AKA.

Da L.E.S explained why he had distanced himself from AKA during an interview on BET’s Behind The Story in November 2021.

People who know me know I’m a non-confrontational guy, you know what I’m saying? If I don’t really get with your energy anymore I have to protect my energy first. So that’s where the relationship is right now. It’s putting my energy first, self-preservation first and I just keep it moving. All that ‘he said, she said’, I’m not with all of that,” DA L.E.S said.

Fans were thrilled over the rappers’ public reunions, with some hailing it as a watershed moment. It’s only to be seen if the two rappers are likely to step into the studio and record another hit song together.
