The familiar attendance of the Mzansi entertainment industry attended the VIP event, clad in white and popping champagne bottles by the poolside. Riky Rick was always a familiar face to the event and he was always dressed to kill.

Following his unexpected death last week, celebrities turned up and flaunted themselves in his honor. In honor of the festival’s founder, several attendees wore Riky’s Cotton Fest clothing. Moozlie took to Instagram and shared some of the pictures at the event. “It wasn’t the same without you Summer. One thing is for sure though, we all love you so much!” Wrote Moozlie.

Ricky’s personal style and street cred were two of the rapper’s many assets. He incorporated his signature aesthetic into his Cotton Fest merch. Da L.E.S announced the comeback of the festival after a two-year break.

Riky’s strong entrepreneurial zeal helped him start Cotton Club Records in 2017 and streetwear in 2018, both of which broke records in South Africa. The late rapper’s Cotton Festival, which debuted in 2019, was likewise a huge success.

Several billboards have been built across South Africa to pay tribute to Riky Rick. Most of the billboards that have been built in Johannesburg have been posted to social media.

The Makhado family has expressed gratitude to South Africa and the rest of the world for the outpouring of love they’ve received since the rapper’s unexpected death on Wednesday. “Deeply moved by the global outpouring of support,” they said in a statement.
