Taking to Twitter (X), the rapper declared that Jesus is his Lord and Saviour. “Jesus Christ is my Lord and Saviour,” wrote Cassper Nyovest. These are words that are mostly uttered when someone is a born-again Christian.

Addressing the audience ahead of his appearance at the annual Festive Lights Switch-On event in Cape Town, the acclaimed rapper shared that he was aware that he’s a child of God but without the full understanding of what it means. Cassper added that he has given up on a lot of things that have been part of his lifestyle and decided to follow Jesus’ principles.

“I always felt like I am a child of God and I understand what it means, but something happened to me where I woke up and I realised what it actually means, and you realise what life is all about and I find that life is now what I thought it was about, so I’ve had to kind of give up a lot of things that I was doing and live the life that I was to live as a Christian,” Cassper said.

The rapper added that he bought his first bible since the one he was using was given to him. The rapper said that this decision was for him to learn more about Jesus. “I bought my first Bible. The Bible I had was given to me, so it’s like I made a commitment to learn about this Jesus, this God that I talk about and that’s what I’m talking about when I say I’ve given my life to God.”

Having experienced a prosperous year buoyed by the triumphs of his musical endeavours, the “Doc Shebeleza,” hitmaker undertook the African Throne Tour alongside fellow rapper Nasty C. Additionally, the release of his album “Solomon” further contributed to his string of successes.
