Renowned engineer Robin Kohl who was behind AKA‘s posthumous album “Mass Country,” recently opened up about his experience working alongside the late South African rap sensation. Robin said that the Supa Mega was attentive to the sonic and very critical of the mixing process as he always aimed for high-quality music releases.

He had this incredible sense of sonics, he was very critical of the mixing process, he was very critical of just the professionalism what he demand from everyone who was in his team, from producers and engineers. The way everything kinda comes together,” he said.

“I think in that sense, his calling was definitely a little bit more than the average artist out there,” Robin Kohl added.

While AKA already crafted a stellar album in Mass Country, his artistic legacy received a recent upgrade with the integration of Dolby Atmos technology. The format immerses listeners in a three-dimensional sonic experience, enriching the rapper’s body of work even further.

Speaking about working on the album Dolby Atmos with AKA, Robin remarked that AKA has consistently envisioned Mass Country to possess such a distinct sound. “When he heard for the first time, he (AKA) was like we gotta build the whole album like this.

“So that was like a pretty natural conversation when he heard it the first time, and what we could achieve, and I would say at the moment he’s one of the few African artists out there, especially in Hip Hop who considered going down this road and not just another milestone and a bit of conversation why Mass Country is kind of a juggernaut album it is,” he added.
