Flvme Celebrates Rising Energy in SA Hip Hop Amid Upcoming Projects

South African hip-hop artist Flvme has re-emerged with a significant contribution to the genre, following the release of his latest project. His presence online has also reflected a renewed sense of engagement with the local hip-hop scene, coinciding with a notable surge of activity among artists across the country.

FLVME recently took to his official X account (formerly Twitter) to comment on the current state of the genre. He wrote, “I love the energy in SA HIP HOP rn … let’s go gents!!!”, a statement that captured the collective momentum building within the hip-hop community.

On 11 August 2025, Flvme released his sophomore album titled BLVCK & WHiTE. The project features collaborations with both local and international artists and adds to the growing momentum in South African hip-hop as the genre enters one of its busiest release cycles in recent years.

The next major drop on the calendar is scheduled for September 3, with Kane Keid expected to release an extended play (EP) titled Call U Back. Anticipation has grown based on his recently released single titled “Call U Back When I Make It.”

Following shortly after, on September 5, Flow Jones JR will release his upcoming album titled Greedy. The project is positioned to continue the artist’s exploration of street-centered narratives and modern production aesthetics. Flow Jones JR has previously worked with several emerging talents in the local scene and aims to further cement his solo catalog with this full-length offering.

8 September will see the release of a new EP by A-Reece, titled Business As Usual. The project was confirmed through the artist’s social media channels, with the title selected over a previously rumored alternative. A-Reece is known for his independent approach and has built a substantial following for his lyrical depth and consistent delivery.

Three days later, on September 12, Nasty C is scheduled to release his forthcoming studio album titled FREE. The album serves as the follow-up to previous releases that established him as a cross-market artist with international appeal. FREE is expected to showcase themes of personal growth, freedom of expression, and a broader musical range.

September 19 will feature the release of Amandla, a new full-length album by Lolli Native. The artist has been active in both recording and live performance circuits and aims to provide a project that reflects social themes alongside personal storytelling. The album adds a distinct voice to the lineup of September releases.

On September 26, Priddy Ugly will close out the month with the release of the deluxe edition of his album Dust. The original album, released earlier, was received positively within hip-hop circles for its production quality and reflective content. The deluxe version is expected to include additional material and unreleased sessions that expand on the themes introduced in the initial release.

K.Keed is also slated to release a deluxe edition of her previously launched project Bite The Bullet during September. While no specific release date has been confirmed, the artist has made announcements hinting at added tracks and new collaborations on the extended version. The original project received attention for its raw lyricism and experimental tones.

The current lineup of projects highlights a concentrated period of activity in South African hip-hop. With artists ranging from mainstream figures to rising voices contributing to the scene, the upcoming month is positioned as one of the most active in recent years. FLVME’s recent remarks echo a sentiment shared by many within the industry, as the genre appears to be undergoing a moment of revitalization marked by high output and collaboration.
