Emtee cited musician and businessman DJ Sumbody‘s death. DJ Sumbody was allegedly assassinated on November 20 last year. “Real deal. Move like a secret agent now. I’ve got a bulletproof vest on. N*ggas want to kill me. They say they want to do me like DJ Sumbody. We have to keep this vest on. N*ggas is niggas are killing n*ggas out there. I’ve got to. I have kids,” he said.
In an interview with Da L.E.S, Emtee addressed how death had traumatized him. “I am traumatised by a lot of deaths that have been going on, especially of people you’ve come across, felt their energy, embraced them. It messes with me in a way. I think it makes me more anti-social,” said Emtee.
