Big-name SA rappers were selected for the reality TV show cast and FIFI Cooper was the first and only Motswako female rapper who was selected. During an interview with Slikour FIFI explains how she managed to secure the reality TV gig.

They actually called me, I think around last year August,” she said. “They asked me to come through to the studio just to you know young interview, and I was like you know let me just try it out because I believe that everything happens for a reason and God’s timing is perfect for me, an optimistic FIFI Cooper added.

FIFI Cooper said that when she received the call from Love And Hip Hop SA knew she was going to be selected to be part of the cast. “When they game that call, I knew I was gonna be part of the cast because there’s definitely something different that I’m bringing to the industry as a whole. Been Motswako First Lady for like 15 years it’s a lot you know.

“So it was quite weird but I was super excited because I’ve always been a fan of Love And Hip Hop, so the fact that out of USA it came to South Africa for me its a big deal, I needed to be part of it,” she said. Soon after being selected for Love And Hip Hop SA, FIFI went on and released a brand new single Ngeke featuring Lwah Ndlunkulu.

The rapper said that it was God’s will that the song came out a week after Love And Hip Hop reality TV premiered. This came after being asked whether the timing of Ngeke’s release was deliberate. “The reason why I said God’s timing is always perfect is because Love And Hip Hop came at a time when I was ready to drop,” she said.

“I’ve been working on the album for almost two years and I have about 46 tracks that I have recorded so I need to cut down to fifteen or sixteen for the album. So there is a lot of work that I have.
