“I can’t afford to buy sh*t for my daughter “ – Malome Vector 

Malome Vector, the Lesotho-born rapper and songwriter, had just released a new song titled  “Go Ahead,” were he addresses the Ambitious Ent boss with unfiltered emotion and honesty, painting a vivid picture of his struggles and triumphs. Through his lyrics, Malome Vector conveys the pain, hunger, and gratitude that he has experienced on his journey to success.

One of the central themes of “Go Ahead” is the idea of betrayal. Malome Vector acknowledges that his former boss may accuse him of betrayal, but he explains that he had no choice. He says, “Go ahead and tell them I betrayed you, I can’t afford to buy food for my child yet I’m always working.” 

Malome Vector’s lyrics highlight the difficult circumstances that he faced, where basic necessities like food were a luxury, and he had to make tough decisions to prioritize his survival. The hit maker also addresses the accusations of laziness that he may have faced. He counters by saying, “You say I’m lazy, can’t you see I’m hungry but I’m always on the road, this is crazy.”

The song also touches on the financial struggles that Malome Vector has encountered on his journey. He reveals, “My bank account is empty and my card declines when I try to purchase things.”

Despite the hardships, Malome Vector expresses gratitude towards his former boss for everything that was done for him. He says, “The journey was painful, but I’m grateful for everything you did for me.”
