Reason Completes New Album After Securing Kwesta Collaboration

Reason Completes New Album After Securing Kwesta Collaboration. South African hip-hop heavyweight Reason has officially completed his highly anticipated new album after securing a long-awaited verse from fellow rap veteran Kwesta.

Taking to X, Sizwe Alakine shared that Kwesta had finally delivered his contribution. “Just got the @KwestaDaKAR verse. Album is officially done. #EverythingHappensForAReason officially coming out soon,” Reason wrote alongside a screenshot of a WhatsApp message showing a 34.2 MB WAV file titled “kwesta reason.wav.”
The announcement comes just two days after Reason publicly called on fans to help him reach Kwesta as he worked to finish the project. On 30 September, he posted: “Someone please tell @KwestaDaKAR I need his verse to wrap this album 😭.”
The latest collaboration adds another chapter to the relationship between the two respected figures in South African hip-hop. Reason and Kwesta previously joined forces on “O Suna Mang,” a track from Reason’s 2018 album Azania.
Reason’s upcoming project is titled Everything Happens For A Reason, a fitting name for an artist whose career has moved between different sounds and identities. While Reason has established himself through introspective lyricism and releases such as Audio High Definition and Azania, his Sizwe Alakine persona has allowed him to explore amapiano and other contemporary sounds.
The rapper has also previously teased his confidence in the new project, suggesting that it could become “the best Reason album ever.” With the final verse now secured, anticipation is building among fans eager to hear the finished body of work.
Reason has yet to announce an official release date for Everything Happens For A Reason. However, his confirmation that the album is complete suggests that its arrival may not be far away.
For fans who have followed both Reason and Kwesta throughout their careers, the new collaboration offers another meeting point between two established voices in South African hip-hop, while adding further excitement to Reason’s next chapter.
