Gigi Lamayne Announces New Single “Karapau” Featuring Earle Fari. South African rap heavyweight Gigi Lamayne is preparing to bring something fresh to the table, announcing an upcoming collaboration with rising Free State rapper Earle Fari.
Titled Karapau, the new single is scheduled to arrive on 27 November 2026, with pre-orders now open through the link in Gigi’s Instagram bio. The rapper shared the news alongside the track’s official cover artwork, giving audiences an early glimpse into the creative direction behind the release.
Designed around a vibrant yellow backdrop, the illustrated artwork captures Gigi and Earle Fari in a playful street-inspired setting. Gigi is seen seated on a wooden crate in a black tracksuit, showing off her braids while striking a cheeky pose. Beside her, Earle Fari rocks a camouflage bucket hat and green cargo outfit, holding a fishing rod with a fish hanging from the line. A boombox, paint cans and water complete the colourful scene.
The artwork’s fishing-inspired concept also connects to the title, Karapau, which is another spelling of carapau, a type of horse mackerel known in Portuguese and Brazilian usage. The single is produced by VMB and carries an explicit content advisory.
The collaboration arrives as Gigi Lamayne continues to demonstrate her versatility within the South African music landscape. Having built her reputation through lyric-driven hip-hop, the award-winning rapper has also explored different musical spaces, including 3-step, Afro house and DJ culture.
