Riky Rick Believes Kwesta Deserves To Win All His Categories At This Year’s SAMAs

Senzo Vilakazi popularly known as Kwesta, is one of the leading nominees for this year’s South African Music Award (SAMA) 23 with 5 SAMA nominations . His album, DaKAR II earned him nods for Best Male Artist of the Year, Best Album of the Year, Best Collaboration of the Year and Best Rap Album. To top his SAMA23 honours, his song ‘Ngud’ featuring Cassper Nyovest is running for Best Record of the Year.

Even though Kwesta didn’t win at the Metro FM this year, Riky Rick believes that rapper deserves to win all his categories at this years’ SAMAs and hope that the votes won’t be rigged.

Having in the past complained about his lack of recognition at award shows, Riky Rick went on a twitter rant and sparked Metro Awards controversy. He used his win for Best Hit Single (Sidlukotini) as a platform to throw shade at radio and offer some interesting advice to upcoming artists.

Riky Rick’s speech during his acceptance for the Best Hit Single award that raised red flags regarding the credibility of the ceremony. The rapper mentioned how the ceremony was questionable, and that viewers were aware it was rigged. But the rapper did not stop there, he took his rant to social media platform Twitter.

“If n**gaz can pay for these f**king awards, then my nigga, I don’t want them,” his first tweet read. This was followed with the comment: “Stop playing with the people… we not stupid …”

This sent the rumour mill grinding about how Mabala Noise had allegedly sponsored a whopping R10 million towards the Metro FM awards, resulting in the record label’s artists owning the spotlight on the night.
