Reason Is Surprised The 90% Quota Has Not Translated To 90% In Clubs

Reason is surprised that the 90% local content quota has not affect how the clubs do it. In the last 2 months we have seen our local musicians really excited about the changes the SABC has made in-terms of the structure of their content.

The SABC did not simply start playing 90% local content on the radio but they have also decided to make the same changes for the SABC TV channels. This is a huge win for the creative industry and all creatives in South Africa.

As a musician, the club is the office and Reason has realised the 90% quota has not translated to 90% in clubs. “I’m surprised to see that 90% local on radio hasn’t translated to 90% in clubs.  it seems to only be house music really” the rapper said.
