The Supa Mega’s way of life was a constant topic of conversation, keeping him in the spotlight for the public eye. However, the late rapper’s mother shared how she managed to keep up with her son’s lifestyle mostly his dating life.
In a conversation with SA Hip Hop Mag, Lynn Forbes shared that her ability to embrace all of her son’s girlfriends stems from her upbringing and the familial dynamics she inherited from her family structure. “So this is how I was raised, my mom has always been somebody that doesn’t distinguish between in-laws, so when we got married, four girls, two boys, the moment you have a spouse, boyfriend or girlfriend those people become part of the family it’s not like my children and the other people,” Lynn Forbes said.
Delving into AKA‘s relationships including the one with DJ Zinhle and their oscillations, Lynn Forbes stated that she consistently upheld the priority of focusing on the youngest family member, who at that time was Kairo.
“Just on Zinhle and Kiernan, we all know the drama that we’ve seen and the back together and stuff. But what is important is that we as a family always advocate that you have to put your focus on the youngest members of the family. So in our case, it was Kairo, now Asante is also there,” Glamy said.
AKA’s mother also disclosed that showing support for DJ Zinhle and prioritizing Kairo during the period when the late rapper was dating Bonang led to AKA giving her a challenging time. “Kiernan gave me a hard time at some point saying you should stop taking pictures with Zinhle putting them on social media. I understand that because at the time he had somebody else and you have to take their feelings into consideration.
“I also know who I am and who I am is somebody who’s not going to push away the mother of my grandchild and Kiernan will also not but it’s just that in the moment you need to do what you need to do. So I think for me it’s about me being consistent and showing up the way I know I am,” Glamy added.
