Rouge Celebrates Winning Her First SAMA! From the time that Rouge came into the game, she has been constantly pushing boundaries. Earlier this year, Rouge became the first rap artist to win a SAFTA for her short film New Era Sessions.
It seems the rappers winning streak is not yet over, Rouge was nominanted for this years SAMA’s in the category for Best Music Video Of The Year which she was awarded at Friday’s award ceremony. Unfortunately the rapper was not there to receive her first SAMA because of health issues.
Rouge went on twitter to show her gratitude for the award explaining why she was not able to make it for the ceremony. In the video she posted, the rapper was in tears after winning the award thanking her fans.
“I JUST WON MY FIRST SAMA AWARD! I wasn’t there cause I’m quite sick. I know alot of people didn’t expect me to take this… But GOD has me even when everyone counts me out! Thank you to everyone who believed in team rouge. We officially have a SAHHA, SAFTA and SAMA award#NES,” tweeted Rouge.
