Close Friend Makes Shocking Claims About Tumi Tladi’s Untimely Passing. The untimely passing of South African hip hop artist Itumeleng George Tladi, better known as Tumi Tladi, shocked Mzansi. The family of the acclaimed rapper confirmed his passing in a statement shared by SAHipHopMag.

In a new twist to uncover the cause of Tumi’s death, a close friend of the Basadi hitmaker claimed that, Tumi Tladi gassed himself to death.

Tumi Tladi’s friend who preferred to remain unidentified informed Sunday World that the rapper gassed himself to death. Although his family insisted he wasn’t suicidal and presumed foul play, a police officer also validated to the newspaper that he had died by suicide.

The unnamed media personality and friend also stated to the publication that the late rapper acquired some many litres of lithium and absorbed it through pipes hooked up to a 10kg bottle. “You remember he was found dead on a Sunday? But he bought the stuff on a Thursday from the nearest shop and consumed it on Sunday. It looks like he planned this. But what is strange about this is that he did not display any sign of depression before taking his own life.”

The police officer, who also requested anonymity, stated that provisional investigators concluded that the artist gassed himself at his apartment.

“The report will reveal whether or not there was suffocation from the fumes he consumed or he was killed. The detectives have already acquired the services of a toxicologist to conduct investigations and would know by next week Friday what the exact cause of his death is. ” 

“From there they will decide whether or not to commute the inquest to murder or proceed with inquest investigation,” said the police officer.

Last month, when cops turned up at the rapper’s home, they were shown to Tladi’s bedroom by a woman called Victoria where they discovered his decapitated body. “On arrival they found Miss Victoria and SB Security officer and they took them to the bedroom where there was a man lying on the bed with a clear plastic under his head. And there was also 10kg bottle with pipes and there was no sig (sic) on a man and medic (sic) Mr Neil Van Der Merwe certified him dead and the body was taken to a mortuary,” read the statement.

According to the artist’s father Peter Tladi, the examination has not been completed and they are still awaiting the results of the autopsy. “Ja, we are still waiting for an autopsy report and the inquest has not been finalised,” he said.
