New Release: Rashid Kay – Fire Video [ft Proverb, Gigi Lamayne, Ginger Trill]

Rashid Kay has just dropped the Fire Video featuring Proverb, Gigi Lamayne, Ginger Trill, Mr Calibre, LandmarQ & Leomile. This record is not for those fans who are listening to rap because it’s popping, there is real knowledge hidden in these lines.

Rashid is undoubtedly a veteran and Hip Hop connoisseur so you better put some respeck on his name. ‘Fire’ recently found itself topping the Hott99-Hip Hop Thursday charts against the biggest songs in the country.

We asked Rashid how the song came about and he said, “I just wanted to do music I would like to hear in the mainstream. Trap is cool and all, but it’s not the only style that’s out there and rappers don’t have to sound the same. I decided to assemble all my favourite lyricists in one song: Proverb, Gigi LaMayne, Ginger Trill, Mr. Calibre (Fratpack) and Landmarq (Last Days Fam), and invited Leomile, a vocalist from Lesotho to sing the hook. The joint was produced by Tuxman from Queenstown in the Eastern Cape. Recorded, mixed and mastered by Mixmasterz Entertainment from Zimbabwe.” Check out the Fire video and tell us what you think:
