SA hip hop and other music genres in the country will come together to pay tribute to Riky who made this event possible for everyone. According to Riky Rick CottonFest was never going to be a success without other rappers who presented different fashion styles in hip hop music.

Boss Zonke stated during his interview on SlikourOnlife that hip hop is taking over fashion all around the world, with rappers at the forefront of numerous fashion trends. “For you to have iBape what we used to laugh at DA L.E.S for, we used to laugh at him for wearing the Bape hoodies,” he said.

Riky further mentioned that merging fashion and hip hop was not them following the trends, but it was a way of setting the trends that will inspire the future generation. “In 25 years people are going to say hey Riky came like this on this music video it came with this combo let me show you the picture I wanna come like that too, they gonna keep bringing us back,” Riky said.

Riky also said how hip-hop icons like Pro-Kid helped inspire CottonFest. The rapper stated that due to the existence of such festivals, fashion and hip hop will continue to evolve. “When you see the Player Sport that Pro-Kid had people have been asking like yo where do I get the Player Sport t-shirt I want to do a throwback, it lives forever,” he explained.

Riky revealed the artists that have inspired the fashion trends in SA hip hop. “A lot of people might have not paid attention let me break it down for you.”

“It was DA L.E.S introducing the colors, when he is introducing the colors im looking up im seeing Khuli Chana with a tracksuit top and a cap with a spruce bob on it.”

“When I see Khuli im seeing a guy who says im gonna come with a tracksuit top and im going to rock a cap on you, then they said im coming with the head hancho” “When you say his head hancho im remembering AKA coming through.”

Riky also mentioned how Cashtime fashion style inspired the game and fashion trends in South Ah. “The Cashtime and Cashtime fam came through, they said no guys, you know what we gonna do, we gonna come with socks now, we gonna pull them up here, let’s see how many people do that,” he said.
