The rapper died whilst in good spirits as he was on the verge of dropping his fourth studio album Mass Country, which is now his posthumous project. Speaking to SA Hip Hop Mag via The Episode Podcast, Zadok who was the producer on the Mass Country album shared his last moment with the Sup Mega.

A sorrowful Zadok said that his last encounter with AKA was not his favourite memory but rather his last memory with the slain rapper. “It’s not my favourite memory, but it’s my last memory with him,” he said. “I went to his house the Thursday before he passed away, I went to his house to go pick up my baby’s phone that we had left there the night before.”

“So I left her phone at his (AKA) house and then, actually the night before that the last we did was make some music for Nadia actually, work on Nadia’s new music taking a whole new direction so we were so excited about it.

“Then Thursday night I go and fetch the phone, Kiernan was on this thing of telling us that he loved us. He hugged me and told me he loved me, I was like yeah I like you to man but like that stop being awkward and that was it.

The famed producer stated that no one ever imagined or anticipated that the Supa Mega would live them in such a way. “It’s crazy because you never know, what’s funny is you never know and I’ve been having an interesting journey with dealing with such things. But you learn to understand and accept that this is the reality that you are given and this is what you have to deal with and you can only deal with it the best way you can you know,” said Zadok.

“It’s crazy because losing him and Riky in 12 months blows I didn’t expect it, those are blows that any one of us could ever predict. Our best bet is just to look up and be hopeful.”
