In celebrating a massive milestone within the hip-hop culture worldwide, Back To The City revealed its theme for this year’s event – “50 Years of Hip Hop”/ 40 Years of S.A Hip Hop.” The announcement comes as a delightful surprise to festival-goers who eagerly await each year’s unique theme that is set to celebrate both local and international Hip-hop icons. This year will be quite special as Hip-hop turns 50 years with SA Hip-hop stamping in with 40 years of immense contribution to the culture.

As we join the Global Hip Hop Celebrations, the #BTTC2023 theme is “50 Years of Hip Hop”/ 40 Years of S.A Hip Hop” celebrating and honouring both international and national Hip Hop icons. See you at the official celebration festival, 7 October @ Newtown.Back To The City announced.
