Rashid Kay Confirms Announcement Date For SA Hip Hop Awards Nominees. It has been a busy year for South African Hip Hop culture, with rappers going full throttle, delivering massive amounts of music to resurrect a game that was thought to be dead.

Hard work brings rewards, and the time has come for SA rappers who have been putting in the effort to be rewarded. Taking to Twitter, Rashid Kay confirmed the announcement date for SA Hip Hop Awards Nominees. The veteran rapper stated that the announcement will be conducted via live streaming on Monday 14 November 2022 at 13h00.

“#SAHHA2022 NOMINEES ANNOUNCEMENT! Monday 14th November 2022 at 13h00 LIVE STREAMING: http://sahiphopawards.com,” tweeted Rashid. Taking from the SA Hip Hop Award website, the award ceremony will take place in December running with the theme “The Hip Hop Kulture.”

Last year’s SA Hip Hop Awards faced massive hurdles as they were hosted virtually due to movement restrictions owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. The awards undertook with the hotly contested Artist of the Decade category which was won by Cassper Nyovest.

This category was chosen not for the longevity of an artist, but rather for the influence they had during that time. It was impossible to overlook Nyovest’s success, merchandise, record label, new liquor deal, and capacity to fill stadiums.

It will be interesting to witness which award will set the conversation once the nominees are out on Monday afternoon. Rappers like Nasty C, AKA, K.O, Big Zulu, and Blxckie will be looking forward to being nominated after having a successful year in the game.
