Emtee Reveals Why He Didn’t Perform At #CottonFest2022. The just ended CottonFest witnessed epic performances from Cassper who was supposed to be a surprise act. Not only that Cassper graced the CottonFest stage with his passionate performance, but AKA and DA L.E.S’s performance left the crowd stunned as the two rappers squashed their beef live on stage.
The majority of South Africa’s prominent rappers attended the festival, however, fans were left in confusion when Emtee could not show up to perform. A Twitter user noticed that Emtee did not perform despite being on the lineup; the tweep then asked the rapper to explain why he wasn’t present.
In response the Roll Up hitmaker made it known that he didn’t perform at CottonFest because he fell sick. “I’m sick cuh. Tonsils n Dat,” he wrote. Artists stepped forward, and it was a fantastic show, as they played from the heart as a way of honouring late Riky’s legacy and not having Emtee on the stage left fans with so many questions.
Other rappers who paid tribute to the late hip hop icon include; Riky’s younger brother Themba Mdladla, veteran ensemble Skwatta Kamp, Kwesta, and Nadia Nakai amongst others.
