SAMA’s Reject AKA’s Entry Into This Years Nominations! AKA has been nominated for the SAMA’s several times and has become a very notable name at the ceremony walking away a winner on occasions.
The rapper’s label Universal recently attempted to enter his upcoming album, Touch My Blood into this years nominees for Album of the year. According to Sunday World, AKA’s album was rejected by The Recording Industry of South Africa on account of it being a late entry since they closed submissions in February.
The RISA members denied the albums entry into this years SAMA’s saying that they would set a bad precedent for the award ceremony. This was also an attempt to fend off favoritism at the award ceremony and said that accepting Touch My Blood’s late entry would be taking it on preferential treatment.
