Nadia Nakai Explains Why Cassper’s Relationship With Riky, Tshego & Gemini Major Was Strained. Nadia Nakai’s departure from Cassper Nyovest’s Family Tree Record label has been fraught with controversy. Following her exit from the stable, the Naaa Meaan chanter once claimed that she was afraid to tell Cassper about her wanting to leave Family Tree but they later talked about it amicably.

Nadia Nakai was not the only big-name artist who left Family Tree. Gemini Major and Tshego were among the artists who abandoned the label.

In an interview with SA Hip Hop Mag, the Money Back hitmaker was asked what led to the departure of her fellow rappers from Family Tree and whether Cassper was a good boss or not. Nadia stated that the ego with men made it difficult for Tshego, Gemini Major and Cassper to find a common ground to work together.

“I do think that when men work together, its very different, the egos will always come in not saying that Cass wasn’t done wrong or whoever was involved weren’t done wrong, but I think a lot of egos cause a lot of breakups,” she said.

Nadia also believed that the breakup between Cassper and the late rapper Riky Rick was caused by ego. “Even between Cass and Rik, I think that could have been sorted out, if the egos were just left out at the door but I think with me its different because I knew how to humble myself in certain places and I knew what I needed from the label,” she said.

Nadia further mentioned that she left Family Tree Records in good books. She stated that her experience differed from that of Tshego and Gemini Major because she and Cassper discussed her reasons for her deapture.

“I didn’t leave on bad blood, we spoke about it, it was good and I just like im gonna try sign my own deal with universal which didn’t happen but the reason why I left is because i wanted to decide Bragga Records directly because they were servicing me through Family Tree.” She added.
