J.Cole Opens Up About Going Platinum & Not Getting Any Grammys

J.Cole is by far one of the top rappers in the world with a huge following that has earned him platinum statuses on his albums and songs that have occupied the top spots on the Billboard Charts.

Speaking to GQ magazine he opened up about going platinum without any features which was a big deal for him, meaning people were having all of him and reacted positively to it.

“I was loving it,” Cole told GQ. “I was like, ‘Word up – this is funny as hell.’ But the second or third time, I was like, ‘All right, it’s almost embarrassing now.’ Like, ‘All right, man, y’all gonna make me put a feature on the album just so this sh*t can stop.

“I don’t have any [features] right now that I really want to boast about. Not saying it’s impossible. It’s just about getting out of my comfort zone.”

He further added that on how he is not bothered by how the Grammy shut him out :

“I’m not supposed to have a Grammy, you know what I mean? At least not right now, and maybe never. And if that happens, then that’s just how it was supposed to be.”
