During an interview on ESAM Podcast Zingah took time to explain what pushed him to make one of the toughest decisions of his music career. The No Reason chanter revealed that Riky Rick‘s death pushed him to quit music because he saw no point in it when it is taking the lives of his loved ones in the game.

“So what pushed me to even announce my retirement was the Riky suicide, like that hurt me because I obviously been through a lot in the industry,” he said. “Seeing him taking life when he had put it together like this kind just made me feel like f**ck this sh*t like is it worth it, it’s even taking my n**gas,” he said.

Zingah further clarified that the music industry also affected him as he had to fight his way out of depression. “Also even how it affected me because I’ve had to deal with depression and had to fight now my way out of depression and heal myself and all that sh*t,” Zingah, said.

The rapper has stated that he is currently concentrating on himself and that the Tick-tock character has allowed him to experience inner peace without bearing any of the strain that comes with being in the music industry.

“I’m just in a place where I just want to be myself, I care more about being myself hence the Tick-tock persona,” he said. He added; “In that space, I get to do that I got to be just me, I don’t owe anybody a release date, I don’t anybody a hit, I don’t owe anybody anything.”
