Da L.E.S Debunks Rape Allegations. Da L.E.S, real name Leslie Jonathan Mampe Jr faced fresh rape allegations after a woman named Carlene Brown went on a social media rant accusing the award-winning rapper.

Carlene claimed that she was gang raped by the Lifestyle hitmaker and his friends three years ago. In a bid to clear his name, the award-winning rapper sought legal counsel as he denied all the allegations labelled against him.

“On or about the 4th of July 2023, Carlene Brown De Jongh falsely and unlawfully accused Leslie Jonathan Mampe Jr a.ka. Da L.E.S and others, in a widely published post on Instagram of inter alia ‘rape.’

“Da L.E.S. does not wish to deal with each and every allegation as it is prime facie untrue. The allegations made by Carlene Brown De Jongh have no foundation and are defamatory, hurtful and wrongful. These were intended to humiliate Da L.E.S and undermine his good reputation,” the statement reads.

According to the rapper’s statement, the accusations were premeditated and intended to damage his reputation given his status quo. 

“Da L.E.S is a celebrated public figure whose income is derived from his musical artistry and public influence. The aforementioned statements were intentionally disseminated by Carlene Brown De Jongh and were clearly calculated to slander, humiliate, defame and tarnish Da L.E.S’ good name and reputation.”

Da L.E.S categorically denies all the spurious and unfounded allegations contained in the aforesaid post. There exists no justification for such publication of the defamatory allegations due to its truthfulness. Carlene Brown is well aware of the cataclysmic effect and implications it will have on Da L.E.S’ reputation and income.

The statement went on to say that the rapper will adhere to the law in order to clear his name and that a police inquiry into a possible defamation case had been initiated. “Da L.E.S will seek all legal remedies to ensure he maintains his innocence. A criminal case of defamation has already been instituted and is under investigation by the South African Police Services.” The statement concludes.
