The famed rapper has been on a lengthy musical hiatus and he made a return to making music by dropping his 9th solo album 313 which he released in December last year. With a career spanning over a decade, Da L.E.S has continually pushed boundaries and maintained a strong presence in the ever-evolving landscape of SA Hip Hop.

After the unveiling of the upcoming Metro FM Awards nominees, Da L.E.S emerged as a contender in the Best Hip Hop category. The North god will vie against fellow rappers Cassper Nyovest, Nasty C, Khul Chana, and A-Reece for the esteemed SA Hip Hop Award.

Following the awards nomination, the Lifestyle hitmaker shared his excitement, expressing gratitude for the recognition after a period of lesser involvement in the music scene. “Big shout out to Metro FM, the Hip Hop nominees are being nominated, finally after a hundred thousand years (I’m joking) its always great to be nominated it shows that my hard work in the game is finally paying off. So please stay in the studio, keep making music and keep everything North 94, Danko!” He said.

With the Metro FM Awards ceremony fast approaching, set to grace the stage on April 27, 2024, at the Mbombela Stadium in Mpumalanga, fans are buzzing with excitement, eagerly anticipating whether it will be Da L.E.S who will clinch the prestigious award in the Best Hip Hop category. Yet, win or lose, The North god’s nomination alone serves as a resounding testament to his lasting legacy and continuous significance in the ever-evolving SA Hip Hop space.

Whilst in the spirit of celebrating, the famed rapper was also previously announced to take part in the Showmax Roast Of Minnie Dlamini. The event is taking place at Sandton Convention Centre on the 5th of April 2024.
