The charges arose after Queen Kay made a deposit of R10,000 in order for Zola 7 to perform, only to be informed that the money had been sent to the wrong account. The event promoter Queen Kay and the rapper Zola have had a tenuous relationship since she revealed an event poster with the rapper’s face on it.

Zola took to Twitter and informed his fans that he is unaware of the situation and that he was not reimbursed for the performance, thus he will not be performing. “I know nothing about this event… I was not paid but I see there’s already a poster in circulation. If you attend this event to see me, do not waste your time. Andizi #namanje.” Tweeted Zola.

Queen Kay, on the other hand, asserted that she had paid Zola 7 to confirm her reservation. She later realized she had been duped. Queen Kay confirmed to the Daily Sun that she has filed a complaint against the Zola 7 impostor.

“I have decided to open a case because I was scammed. I maintain believe that I spoke to Zola 7 not someone else. Now my suspicions are even stronger because his wife and manager Siki Kunene has been harassing me,” she claimed.

“She is demanding that I change the story. She feels I painted Zola as a bad person and their business is being affected by this. But I told her I won’t do this because I was scammed in his name. I told her I also have a reputation to protect. I even advised her to put up their side of the story in the public domain so we can do a joint statement but she refused,” Queen Kay explained.
