Da L.E.S’ Friends Step Up To Cover Medical Costs
Da L.E.S’ Friends Step Up To Cover Medical Costs. The family of renowned South African rapper, Da L.E.S, was reportedly seeking financial assistance to cover the medical bills following the recent stroke.
According to Zimoja, the rapper’s family was seeking donations and support to cover the medical expenses leading to a massive uproar on social media. “Hi Friends, as support to Leslie’s family while Les is in hospital, we are encouraging friends to assist in kind to Leslie’s mother’s account below,” reads the note including Da Les’ mother’s banking details.
However, after a social media uproar with fans expressing their frustration, arguing that the renowned rapper should have medical aid without needing to ask for donations, entertainment commentator Phil Mphela came forward and provided clarification on the matter.
He stated that it was not the rapper’s family who requested donations for Da Les‘ medical bills; rather, it was the rapper’s friends who took the initiative to support their own and this action was not made at the request of Da Les’ family.
“UPDATE: Da Les’ family DID NOT ask for donations Some clarity on the trending topic of Mampe family asking for donations to cover the rapper’s medical bills has revealed that; it was Da Les’ friends who started the call as a gesture of support,” Phil reported.
“Apparently, close friends and business associates of Da Les took it upon themselves to gather donations for the family and reached out to Da Les’ mom for her bank details and informed her that they’d like to send the family money in support of DA L.E.S.
“I am told the call was initially amongst friends, business partners and associates, then it spread broader. Someone shared the message with the media, distorting the initial intention and catalyst for the donations drive.” Phil added.
The rapper is currently reported to be in stable condition, which brings a sense of relief amid the difficult circumstances. Despite this, the situation remains incredibly challenging for his family. “Whilst he is in a stable condition, this remains a challenging time for his loved ones and his family calls on the public to keep him in their thoughts and prayers as they navigate this difficult period,” a source told Zimoja.
