“He reminds of Kiernan” – Nadia Nakai On Kashcpt’s Feature In ‘Never Leave.’ Nadia Nakai is preparing to release a poignant tribute track titled “Never Leave,” featuring Kashcpt, dedicated to her late lover AKA, who tragically passed away in Durban last year in February.
Bragga recently announced that she will be releasing the single on January 26, 2024, a date with deep sentimental significance, just a few days before AKA’s Earthreal birthday. Speaking to SlikourOnLife, Nadia Nakai revealed the reason why she chose to feature Kashcpt is that the young Cape Town rapper reminds him AKA considering his immense talent and his versatility as an artist.
“The reason I featured Kashcpt mainly is because he’s a very talented guy, he can sing, he can rap, he can write, he’s an amazing talent and I feel he kind of reminds me of Kiernan. If I had known Kiernan when he started out his career being that talented, also Kash is from Cape Town, he represents the city that Kiernan is from as well so it was very sentimental for me to have him on this specific song.” Nadia Nakai said as per SlikourOnLife.
Bragga also revealed that while in the studio session with Kashcpt, she couldn’t help but be reminded of how AKA must have felt during the early days of his music career. “While I was in studio with him, he reminded me of what I think Kiernan would’ve been when he started making music at the beginning of his musical career. I think he was really instrumental in getting the message across and singing with so much passion and love.”
