AKA Recounts On What Sparked The Scuffle With Burna Boy
AKA Recounts On What Sparked The Scuffle With Burna Boy. AKA and Burna Boy were formerly close musical colleagues. Their relationship took a blow after the two rappers got into a furious disagreement following the xenophobic debate.
The Supa Mega made it clear last year that he has nothing against Burna Boy anymore and at the same time the two are no longer close like they were before. “Maybe a year ago, two years ago, it was just like yeah man whatever, do what you gotta do,” he said responding to when he last talked to Burna Boy.
Following the Grammy Awards won by Wouter Kellerman, Nomcebo and Zakes Bantiwnini AKA and Burna Boy’s altercation resurfaced. This came after Burna Boy lost the Grammy Awards to South African artists for the Best Global Music Performance Award.
“Congratulations 2 @Nomcebozikode @ZakesBantwiniSA @wouterkellerman 4 winning grammy award. I guess @akaworldwide AKA was right when he said we are gifted in South Africa .He was defending us against Burna Boy …funny thing our artists won against him (@burnaboy ) Zakes Nomcebo,” read the tweet.
AKA responded by outlining the circumstances that led up to the altercation. “Congrats but that chat wasn’t about music or talent. It actually started with soccer and ended up being about xenophobia. Crazy times.” AKA tweeted.
AKA has been very clear that his online argument with Burna Boy was not personal, but he did not like the concept of people criticizing his nation. “It was never about anything personal, I just don’t like people talking sh*t about my country,” he said. “It’s that simple you know, people were talking about there is a genocide in South Africa, the likes of Tiwa Savage and people talking about, they’re killing our people, it was bullsh*t, it was cap.” He said.
