Tyson Sybateli Releases 14-Track Album “Amehlo”

Tyson Sybateli Releases 14-Track Album “Amehlo” Tyson Sybateli has officially opened a new chapter in his catalogue with the release of Amehlo, a 14-track album that brings together sharp lyricism, carefully selected collaborations and a more expansive production approach.

The project arrives as another significant entry in a discography that has steadily developed around Tyson Sybateli’s understated approach. Rather than building his identity around constant visibility, the rapper has consistently allowed his music to carry much of the conversation, maintaining a measured presence while refining his sound from one project to the next.
The title Amehlo, which translates to “eyes” in Zulu, provides a fitting starting point for the album. The concept points towards seeing, observing and gaining perspective, themes that sit naturally within the progression of Sybateli’s previous work. His 2022 album Home dealt with ideas of belonging, while 2023’s Present. placed its focus on being grounded in the current moment.
With Amehlo, that perspective appears to widen. The album gives Sybateli room to look both inward and outward, reflecting on his position as an artist while engaging with the environment around him. It is a continuation of the introspective quality present in his earlier projects, but presented through a different lens.
Sybateli has also developed a distinct way of presenting the people who appear alongside him. Rather than describing them simply as features, he has referred to his collaborators as “featured coworkers”. That description is reflected in the album’s guest list, which includes Thato Saul, Filah Lah Lah, Tron Pyre of GOLDEN CHILD, Buzzi Lee and Marcus Harvey.
The collaborations add different dimensions to the 14-track project while keeping Sybateli at the centre of the album. His precise writing remains a defining feature, but Amehlo also makes space for soulful textures, contemporary production and arrangements that move beyond a strictly traditional boom-bap sound.
The album’s rollout gave listeners several glimpses into what was coming before the complete project arrived. Singles such as “Company Party”, “Two”, “Dark & Lovely” and “Teflon Cards” gradually introduced different aspects of the album, allowing each release to stand on its own while contributing to the wider picture of Amehlo.
For listeners who wanted an early introduction to the project, Sybateli also hosted a listening session and merch pop-up in Centurion. The event offered an opportunity to experience the album ahead of its wider release while bringing together the music, visual identity and merchandise associated with the project.
That approach is consistent with the way Sybateli has handled his career. His releases have often felt deliberately constructed rather than rushed, with the albums functioning as complete bodies of work instead of simply collections of individual songs designed around streaming numbers.
That philosophy can be traced through the evolution of his catalogue, from Dulcé and Eve through Home and Present.. Each project has added another layer to his artistic identity, giving listeners a broader understanding of his writing, influences and perspective.
Amehlo now extends that progression with a project that places observation at the centre of its identity. The combination of established collaborators, previously released singles and a carefully developed visual campaign gives the album its own character while remaining connected to the world Sybateli has built over the years.
Amehlo is now available on major streaming platforms.
